(armenia.com.au) CANBERRA: Armenian-Australians are invited by a united front of all Armenian community churches and organisations to protest at the Azerbaijan Embassy in Canberra tomorrow (Friday, 8th April).
On April 1-2, Azerbaijan launched unprecedented attacks on Nagorno Karabakh, murdering over 30 innocent civilians and soldiers defending the self-determined Armenian-populated Republic. Among the deaths was an 11-year-old child from Martuni and three elderly Armenians, who were butchered in their homes.
On April 5, a ceasefire was announced, but since then a further 3 Armenian soldiers have lost their lives as Azerbaijani attacks by rifle, mortar and tanks continue.
A Protest for Friday has been organised to show solidarity with the people of Artsakh and to state to Azerbaijan that their aggression will not be tolerated by Armenians across the world.
The organisers of the Protest are the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Armenian Catholic Church, the Armenian Evangelical Church, the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, the Armenian Liberal Democratic Party, the Armenian General Benevolent Union, Hamazakaine, the Armenian Relief Society, Homenetmen, Tekeyan, Dkhrouni, the Armenian National Committee of Australia, Nor Serount, and the Armenian Youth Federation of Australia.
Buses will depart at 7AM from Willoughby (Armenian Cultural Centre), Ryde (Ararat Scout Hall) and Western Sydney (Panoyan Centre).
The Protest will last from 12noon to 1pm. Buses will return protesters to their original locations.
The Armenian Youth Federation of Australia have organised Banner Preparation events for tonight (Thursday night, 7:30pm) at the Armenian Cultural Centre in Willoughby and the Smithfield Navasart Scout Hall.
Let’s join, stand with our soldiers, and add our voices of protest with a message for peace in Nagorno Karabakh.

Ապրիլ 1-2 ազատ Արցախի սահամանագիծի վրայ Ազերի թշնամիին կատարեց զինուորական գործողութիւններ որուն ընթացքին զոհուեցաւ 11 ամեայ Վաղենիկ Գիրգորեանը: Անոնք շարունակեցին իրենց բարբարոսութիւննեըր եւ վայրագօրէն սպաննեցին անմեղ ընտանիք մը:
Թշնամիին վայրագութիւնը անպատասխան չի մնաց շնորհիւ Հայրենիքը պաշտպանող սահամանապահ զինուրներուն:
Ապրիլ 5ին յայտարարուեցաւ զինադադր սակայն թշնամին խախտեց զայն որուն հետեւանքով նահատակուեցան 3 զինուրներ:
Ուրբաթ օրուայ տեղի ունենալիք ցոյցի միջոցաւ Աւստրալահայ գաղութը իր զօրակցութեան ձայնը հասանելի պիտի դարձնէ Արցախի մէջ գտնուող մեր հայրենակիցներուն եւ յատկապէս Հայրենապահ մեր զինուրներուն: Ինչպէս նաեւ իր բողոքի ձայնը պիտի բարձրացնէ Ազրպէյճանի յարձակողապաշտ քաղաքականութեան դէմ:
Վերոյիշեալ ցոյցը տեղի պիտի ունենայ կազմակերպութեամբ Հայ Առաքելական, Կաթողիկէ եւ Բողոքական եկեղեցիներու, Սոցիալ Դէմոկրատ Հնչակեան, Հայ Յեղափոխական Դաշնակցութեան եւ Ռամկավար Ազատական Կուսակցութիւններու, Հայ Բարեգործական Ընդհանուր Միութեան, Հայ Օգնութեան Միութեան, Համազգայինի, ՀՄԸՄի, ՀՅԴ Աւստրալիոյ Երիտասարդական Միութեան, Աւստրալիոյ Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի, Թէքէյեան Մշակութային Միութեան, Տխրունի Երիտասարդական Միութեան եւ Նոր Սերունդ Մշակութային Միութեան:
Առաւօտեան ժամը 7:00ին հանդակադքեր տրամադրուած են փոխադրելու գաղութի զաւակները՝ Հայ Մշակութային Կեդրոնէն (Ուիլլուպի), Արարատ Սկաուտական Սրահէն (Րայտ) եւ Բանոյեան կեդրոնէն (Պօնէրիկ):
Բողոքի ցոյցը պիտի սկսի ժամը 12ին եւ պիտի տեւէ մէկ ժամ որմէ ետք հանրակարքեր պիտի մեկնին իրենց կեդրոնները:
Հրաւիրուած է գաութը իր զօրակցութիւնը յայտնելու Ազատ Արցախին:
