(PRENSA ARMENIA) El martes 15 de diciembre, cerca de la medianoche, el presidente de Racing Víctor Blanco confirmó que, tras largas negociaciones con la aerolínea estatal turca Turkish Airlines, su club rechazó el auspicio de la empresa.
La medida fue saludada desde la comunidad armenia de la argentina. Mediante un comunicado titulado “Turkish Airlines intentó auspiciar a Racing para lavar la imagen del gobierno autoritario de Turquía“, la organización Unión Juventud Armenia de Sudamérica celebró la decisión de las autoridades de Racing. “Desde hace varios años, Turkish Airlines se convirtió en la principal arma de la diplomacia turca en todo el mundo: auspiciando a grandes figuras del deporte como Kobe Bryant o el propio Lionel Messi, la empresa estatal siempre mostró al gobierno y al país que representaba como moderno y pujante. Al pegar su marca junto a figuras reconocidas y admiradas, se buscó ocultar una realidad que no es la que vive actualmente el pueblo turco”, advirtió la organización juvenil armenia.
“La persecución al pueblo kurdo, que en noviembre pasado alcanzó un nuevo límite con el asesinato del abogado de derechos humanos Tahir Elçi, como así también al Partido Democrático de los Pueblos (HDP), el hostigamiento al periodismo opositor que se intensifica siempre que hay elecciones, la represión a las manifestaciones pacíficas de la sociedad civil, el encarcelamiento de opositores o simplemente quienes “insulten” al presidente Recep Tayyip Erdogan, el acoso a quienes desafíen el relato oficial sobre el Genocidio Armenio, la censura y bloqueo a Twitter y otras redes sociales y la complicidad con el Estado Islámico para intensificar el conflicto en Siria, son algunas de las tantas razones que tiene la diplomacia de Turquía para ocultar sus verdaderas intenciones”.
“En el fútbol, la camiseta y los colores son inmaculados”, opinó Alfonso Tabakian, director del Consejo Nacional Armenio de Sudamérica. “Son la identidad de los hinchas de un club. Por eso, a ningún hincha del mundo le gustaría que su club sea auspiciado por un gobierno que viola los derechos humanos. Es por eso que agradecemos al Presidente de Racing por poner en lo más alto eso que no tiene precio: el honor por los colores”.
El año pasado, la Agencia Prensa Armenia dio a conocer la noticia de que el presidente de San Lorenzo, Matías Lammens, había rechazado una millonaria oferta del gobierno de Azerbaiyán, país hermano de Turquía, que buscaba hacer algo similar. “A veces la prepotencia del dinero pretende pisar la historia”, declaró Lammens en ese momento.
Racing Club Rejected the Sponsorship of Turkish Airlines
(PRENSA ARMENIA) On Tuesday December 15 the president of the Argentinean football club Racing Victor Blanco confirmed that they rejected the sponsorship of Turkish Airlines.
The move was hailed from the Armenian community of Argentina. In a statement entitled “Turkish Airlines tried to sponsor Racing to wash the image of the authoritarian government of Turkey,” Armenian Youth Federation of South America organization welcomed the decision. “For several years, Turkish Airlines became the main weapon of Turkish diplomacy around the world sponsoring important sports figures like Kobe Bryant or Lionel Messi. They exhibited their brand with recognized and admired figures to hide the reality of what is currently living the Turkish people,” said the Armenian youth organization.
“The persecution of the Kurdish people and the Peoples Democratic Party, which last November reached a new limit with the murder of human rights lawyer Tahir Elçi, the harassment of opposition media that intensifies whenever there are elections in the country, the repression of peaceful demonstrations of the civil society, the imprisonment of opponents or simply those who ‘insult’ President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the harassment to those who challenge the official story about the Armenian Genocide, the censorship and blocking of Twitter and other social networks and the complicity with the Islamic State to intensify the conflict in Syria, are some of the many reasons that the Turkish diplomacy has to hide their true intentions,” added the Armenian Youth Federation of South America.
“In football, the shirt and the colors are immaculate,” said Alfonso Tabakian, director of the Armenian National Committee of South America. “They are the identity of supporters of a club. Therefore, no fan of world would like their club to be sponsored by a government that violates human rights.” Last year, another Argentinean club San Lorenzo de Almagro rejected a millionaire sponsorship offer from Azerbaijan. Racing and San Lorenzo are two of the biggest clubs in the country.

Արժանթինահայութիւնը ողջունած է այս քայլը։ Արդարեւ, Հարաւային Ամերիկայի ՀԵԴն յայտարարեց, թէ Անգարա կը փորձէ իր միջազգային վարկը բարելաւել «Թըրքիշ Էրլայնզ»ի ծանուցումներուն միջոցաւ, սակայն այդ փորձը փաստօրէն ձախողած է Արժանթինի մէջ։
Հարաւային Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի վարիչ Ալֆոնսօ Թապաքեան կը յիշեցնէ, որ արժանթինեան այլ խումբ մը՝ «Սան Լորանզօ տէ Ալմակօ», եւս մերժած էր հովանաւորութեան մասին ատրպէյճանական առաջարկ մը։
