Highlights Ardy’s commitment to justice and civic engagement
GLENDALE – Ardy Kassakhian on Thursday announced the endorsement of the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region (ANCA-WR) and its local chapters in Burbank, Glendale, Hollywood and La Crescenta. The endorsement vote was unanimous in support of Ardy’s candidacy. For nearly a century, the ANCA-WR has worked to educate, motivate and activate the Armenian-American community in the western United States on a wide range of issues.
“Our decision was based on Ardy’s decades of involvement, service and dedication to the Armenian-American community,” said Nora Hovsepian, Chair of the ANCA-WR. “We are confident that he will continue to build on this strong track record when elected to the California State Assembly.”
“My heritage is central to who I am, and I am proud to have the support of the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region,” said Kassakhian. “Making voter registration and turnout easier for all communities will be one of my top priorities in the Assembly,” said Kassakhian.
Ardy Kassakhian launched his Assembly campaign last year. Since that time, he has been meeting with voters and community leaders from Los Feliz to La Cañada to get their perspectives on issues facing their communities. Kassakhian is running to represent Assembly District 43, which includes the communities of Burbank, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose and the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Atwater Village, East Hollywood, Franklin Hills, Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz and Silver Lake. Ardy Kassakhian grew up and attended public schools in Glendale. He was first elected Glendale City Clerk in 2005. As Clerk, he has reduced government waste by introducing environmentally sound practices, made election information easier to access and worked to increase voter participation. Ardy graduated from UCLA and the Executive Program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He lives with his wife Courtney and their young son in Glendale.

ԿԼԵՆՏԷՅԼ.- Արեւմտեան Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբը, ինչպէս եւ յանձնախումբի Պըրպենքի, Կլենտէյլի, Լա Քրեսենթայի եւ Հոլիվուտի մասնաճիւղերը Հինգշաբթի, 9 Յուլիսին իրենց զօրակցութիւնը յայտարարեցին 43րդ ընտրական շրջանին մէջ Քալիֆորնիոյ Նահանգային խորհուրդի անդամութեան թեկնածութիւնը դրած Արտի Քասախեանին:
«Մեր որոշումը հիմնուած էր հայ համայնքին ու անոր կարիքներուն Արտի Քասախեանի տասնամեակներու հետեւողական նուիրումին եւ ծառայութեան: Մենք վստահ ենք, որ Քալիֆորնիոյ Նահագնային խորհուրդի անդամ ընտրուելով, ան պիտի շարունակէ առաւել սերտացնել իր կապերը հայ համայնքին հետ», յայտնեց Արեւմտեան Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի յանձնախումբի ատենապետ՝ իրաւաբան Նորա Յովսէփեան:
«Իմ ազգային ժառանգութիւնս կարեւոր մասն է իմ էութեանս եւ ես հպարտ եմ, որ Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի Արեւմտեան շրջանի կազմակերպութիւնը իմ կողքին է: Բոլոր համայքներու պարագային, նոր քուէարկողներու արձանագրումն ու քուէի իրաւունք ունեցողներուն քուէատուփ հասցնելը պիտի ըլլան Նահանգային խորհուրդին մէջ իմ առաջնահերթ գործերու շարքին», յայտարարեց Արտի Քասախեան:
Նահանգային խորհուրդի իր թեկնածութիւնը անցեալ տարի յայտարարելէ ետք, Արտի Քասախեան շարունակ կը հանդիպի Լոս Ֆելիզէն մինչեւ Լա Քանիատա շրջանի քուէարկողներու եւ համայնքային ղեկավարներու հետ՝ հաղորդակցելու համար անոնց մտահոգութիւններուն եւ հետաքրքրութիւններուն:
43րդ ընտրատարածքը, ուր Քասախեան դրած է իր թեկնածութիւնը, կ՛ընդգրկէ Պըրպենք, Կլենտէյլ, Լա Քանաիատա, Ֆլինթրիճ, Լա Քրեսենթա, Մոնթրոզ շլրջանները, ինչպէս նաեւ Լոս Անճելըսի Էթուաթըր, Արեւլեան Հոլիվուտի, Ֆրենքլին Հիլզի, Հոլիվուտ Հիլզի, Լոս Ֆելիսի եւ Սիլվը Լէյքի թաղամասերը:
