The EAFJD stands in solidarity with the Kurdish community in Belgium

The European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) strongly condemns the heinous attack perpetrated by Turkish extremists against Kurdish people in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium, on March 24, 2024.

Following the celebration of Kurdish Newroz in Leuven, Kurdish families were targeted and subjected to a violent assault while engaging in the festivities.

We express our solidarity with the affected Kurdish people and denounce the actions of the Turkish fascists involved in this attack. Their display of fascist Grey Wolf symbols and chants invoking the names of terrorist organizations like DAESH/ISIS is abhorrent and has no place in civilized societies, like Belgium.

Acts of violence and intimidation based on ethnic or ideological differences cannot be tolerated, and those responsible must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

The EAFJD stands in solidarity with the Kurdish community in Belgium and reaffirms its commitment to promoting justice, freedom, and respect for human rights.
