WASHINGTON, DC — Armenian American community leader and respected Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Board Member Raffi Hamparian will serve as the organization’s next national Chairman.
Hamparian succeeds longtime ANCA leader Ken Hachikian, who will continue his tenure on the national board and expand his portfolio of community responsibilities.
“I welcome this new opportunity to serve the Armenian American community and build bridges that will strengthen the Armenian Nation,” shared Raffi Hamparian. “When we work together, when we dream together, when we unite for a common purpose – there is nothing the ANCA cannot achieve. I look forward to working with the brilliant, loving and positive individuals in our community who want to bolster the Armenian Cause,” added Hamparian.
Hachikian welcomed Raffi to the helm of the ANCA National Board, stating, “It’s been an honor to help lead our national efforts, along with Raffi and the rest of our national board and staff for the past 15 years. I am honored to have had this opportunity and deeply grateful that I will continue to work with this capable team and our grassroots network across America to protect our homeland, promote our heritage, and realize our rights.”
Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, Raffi Hamparian is a graduate of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, where he also earned a Masters Degree in International Relations. Raffi has worked for a number of members of Congress, most recently as the chief foreign affairs aide for former New Jersey Congressman Steven R. Rothman. He currently serves as the Director of Federal Affairs for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Raffi is a lifelong Armenian American political activist, having begun his activism as a proud member of the Armenian Youth Federation. He is a resident of Pasadena, California, where he lives with his wife Dr. Mireille Hamparian and their children: Areni, Zabelle, Meghri and Saro.

ԱՄՆ Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի կառավարման խորհրդի անդամ Րաֆֆի Համբարյանը կփոխարինի Քեն Խաչիկյանին հանձնախմբի նախագահի պաշտոնում:
Ինչպես տեղեկացրին հանձնախմբի մամուլի ծառայությունից, Խաչիկյանը կշարունակի իր գործունեությունը հանձնախմբում համայնքային մի շարք կարևորություն ունեցող ոլորտներում:
«Ողջունում եմ ամերիկահայ համայնքին ծառայելու և հայ ազգի հզորության համար կամուրջներ կառուցելու այս նոր հնարավորությունը: Երբ միասին աշխատում, միասին երազում ենք, միավորվում մի նպատակի շուրջ, չկա որևէ բան, որին հանձնախումբը չկարողանա հասնել: Անհամբերությամբ սպասում եմ համայնքում մեր աշախատանքին` հանուն Հայկական հարցի առաջմղման»,- ասել է Համբարյանը:
Քեն Խաչիկյանը ևս ողջունել է Րաֆֆի Համբարյանի նոր պաշտոնը:
«Ինձ համար մեծ պատիվ էր 15 տարիների ընթացքում հանձնախմբի կառավարման խորհրդի և անձնակազմի հետ աշխատելն, այդ թվում և Րաֆֆիի հետ»,- նշել է Խաչիկյանը:
